Click the microphone button to start recording. The tool uses the browser's built-in Web Speech API to stream audio from your microphone and convert it to text in real time. Interim results (in gray italic) show the current phrase being recognized; they become final text when Chrome confirms the transcription. Click the mic again to stop.
Use Copy to copy the full transcript to your clipboard, or Download .txt to save it as a plain-text file. Transcripts accumulate across multiple recording sessions in the same page visit — starting and stopping the mic appends new speech rather than overwriting. Use Clear to reset.
The Web Speech API is currently only supported in Google Chrome (desktop). Firefox, Safari, and other browsers do not implement the API. No extension or plugin is required — Chrome supports it natively.
Audio processing is handled by Chrome and Google's speech recognition service. Your audio is sent to Google for transcription — this is a Chrome browser feature, not something this tool controls. No data is stored or logged by this site.
